Ogun East Senatorial District has inaugurated Area Command and Divisional Community policing Advisory Committee so as to move to the Next level of recruiting Supernumerary police who are co-practitioners of Community policing that will assist in reducing crime in the Society.

The Inauguration which took place at the Millennium hall itoro, Ijebu-Ode consist of The Area Commander, Divisional police officer, Traditional Rulers, Head of villages , representative of Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) and Head of all Security Agencies.

Speaking During the Inauguration, The Commissioner for Police, Kenneth Ebrimson Ably represented by Deputy Commissioner of Police, (Operations) Tijani Abdullahi said Community policing will promote peace and security awareness in our respective communities and also Ensuring that Effective policing is achieved at every level of the Community.

” There is no doubt that the persons to be Appointed as Members of this Committees are of reputable character, Educated, Non Partisan, acceptable to the Generality of the people to render selfless service to the nation and Humanity. The whole idea of this Proactive Approach is to bring policing closer to the people and bridge the Communication gap between the public and the police.” The CP said.

Also speaking the Transition Chairman Ijebu-Ode Local Government, Engr olugbenga Olugbile commend the police efforts towards combating crime in the Society saying the present Administration does not joke with the Security of it citizens.

” Recently the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun procured Security Van, Gadgets to the Security Agencies to strengthen the police force and other Security Operatives which shows that He’s a Security Conscious Governor. The Community policing is a good initiative, which is welcomed by all” He said.

Earlier in his Address, the Area Commander of Ijebu-Ode, ACP Abiodun Onuoha said the district is blessed with highly intellectual who have the mandate to support business saying with community policing crime situation would be reduced to the barest minimum.
