For years, the notion persisted that acting was a profession reserved for those without academic credentials. However, this stereotype has been shattered as many Nigerian actors have proven to be highly educated and accomplished individuals. In fact, several renowned actors have traded in their scripts for lecture notes, taking on roles as university lecturers.

Here are 10 Nigerian actors who have successfully bridged the gap between the entertainment industry and academia.

1. Peter Fatomilola: A Pioneer in Theater Arts

Born on January 16, 1946, in Ekiti State, Peter Fatomilola joined a theatre group in 1967 and went on to study Theater Arts at Obafemi Awolowo University. He later became a lecturer at the same institution, teaching drama to aspiring actors.

Sola Fosudo, an actor and lecturer from Lagos State, holds degrees from Obafemi Awolowo University and the University of Ibadan. He currently serves as a senior lecturer and head of the Theater Arts department at Lagos State University.
