As political parties and aspirants prepare for the Bye-election in Remo Federal Constituency following the death of Hon. Adewunmi Onanuga (IJAYA), the leadership of the All Progressives Congress in the state has two serious issues agitating the minds of the constituents to contend with. The first is which local government among the three local government areas that make up the constituency will the candidate comes from.

The second issue is about the party’s flag bearer. Who among the array of aspirants has the much-needed credentials and is well-equipped to represent the party and the constituency.

However, there is the prevailing view among stake holders in the Federal Constituency that the vacant seat should be filled with a candidate from the same local government with late ‘Ijaya’ so as to complete the term she started from year 2019 which remains two years.

From this point of view, it is believed that there would be no unnecessary contention as to which local government the replacement would come from. Every possibility is that Sagamu should produce the candidate for continuity sake.

Then the next question is who among the numerous aspirants is fit to fill the vacant seat. Like in every contest, there are always contenders and pretenders but one notable name that reverberate among the people of Sagamu and Remo Federal Constituency is Oyeleke Folajuwon Oluwole, a consummate, grassroot politician with wide ranging experience and vast knowledge of the Remo Federal Constituency politics gathered over the years.

Oye has he’s fondly called, is not a novice in the game of politics. He is a top flight political figure with high social capital and political versatility. Believed to be a team player, a decent politician with strong belief in equitable distribution of the dividends of democracy to the people.

A thoroughbred son of late Oluwole, a prominent political figure in Sagamu. Oye has not left anyone in doubt about his competence, versatility and the will to deliver the expected dividends to the people. He has done it quietly and audibly in private and public capacities within the community and his contributions to the APC success at all levels in the state cannot be overemphasized.

Oye has the knowledge of the economic, political and social problems of the community at his fingertips. His belief in the use of political power to harness the vast potentials of the federal constituency is second to none. According to him, he’s poised to continue the effective representation provided by late Hon. Adewunmi Onanuga and also complement the efforts and good work of the performing Governor, the architect of modern Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun.

His impressive educational background and extensive military career make him a strong leader and dedicated public servant. His academic achievements are notable, spanning from primary education at Wesley Primary School and St. Leo’s Catholic School to secondary education at Command Day Secondary School. He obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from Iscom University Benin, a Master’s Degree in Divinity with a focus on Leadership from Liberty University, and is currently pursuing Doctoral Degree in Strategic Leadership at Liberty University.

With his versatility in various fields of human endeavour, strong background in leadership, crisis management, and community engagement, Oyeleke Folajuwon Oluwole is well-equipped to serve and represent the people of Remo effectively. Hence, the cap fits him.
