An appeal has gone to the stakeholders in Odeda Local Government to support the efforts of the present administration in the Council Area in the area of sports development. Making the appeal was the Chairman, Hon. Folasade Adeyemo at the 2021 Dapo Abiodun Mind Games Festival held on Friday 18th February, 2022 at the Council Secretariat.

The Council boss ably represented by the Vice Chairman of the Council, Hon. Yaya Adigun, further stressed that the Local Government is happy to host the entourage from the Ministry of Youth and Sports who are the organiser of the programme. He also appreciated His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun (MFR), the Executive Governor of Ogun State for deeming it fit to put together the Mind Games, with the hope of encouraging the Youth, “as an Idle hand they say, is the devil’s workshop”.

Hon. Adigun described the competition as a means to foster unity among the people of the State. According to him, competitors will compete in three Games which are Ayo Olopon, Draught and Chess.

Earlier Speaking, the Director of Sports, Ogun State Sports Council, Mrs. Iyabo Oluwarotimi described the competition as a veritable means of unearthing hidden talents that abound in the Council area, with a view of making them stars.

Highpoint of the event was the presentation of gifts to the winners. These include, Mr. Adebesin Surajudeen in Draught, Mr. Agboola Musibau in Ayo Olopon, male category and Mrs. Bankole Zainab in Ayo Olopon, female category.
