On Tuesday, the Executive Chairman of Ijebu North Local Government, Mr Bolaji Odusanya proclaimed the 9th Ijebu North Legislative Council.
BJ as he is fondly called, admonished the lawmakers to work for the development of their wards and the Local Government as he also advised them to work hand in hand with the Executive arm of the Government to ensure smooth implementation of policies and programmes that will benefit the lives of Ijebu North residents.
“ As the Executive Chairman of Ijebu North and in line with the established section, it is my singular honour and privilege to officially proclaim the first session of this 9th Legislative House”
“ It is my prayer and hope that your deliberations will be constructive, democratic, developmental progressive, people-oriented and productive.”
“I urge you to work with us for the implementation of our policies and programmes which will enable us to work for the betterment of our people and for the development of our Local Government” he said.
The Council boss also appealed to the lawmakers to partner with his administration to guarantee the security of lives and properties, good governance and improved the standard of living of the people.
During the first session of the 9th Legislative Council , the House Unanimously elected Hon Olawale Agbolade Lawrence from Ward 07 as the Leader of the House , Hon Moruf Olatunji Olatayo from ward 04 as the Deputy Leader, Hon Mrs Ajibade Durojaiye Musari from ward 03 and Hon Shakirat A joke Bakare-Hassan from ward 09 emerged as Majority Leader and Chief Whip respectively.
