Ijebu-Igbo – Residents of the Egbe Subair area, near the residence of former senator Buruji Kashamu in Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State, have been thrown into mourning following the discovery of three bodies inside a residential building.

The deceased, identified by residents as a woman, her son, and a man popularly known as “Shanko”, were found dead under circumstances that have left the community in shock.

According to sources in the area, the woman and the man were discovered lifeless inside the toilet, while the woman’s son was found dead in one of the rooms within the house.

Residents who visited the scene said there were indications that a struggle may have occurred before the deaths, as some parts of the toilet and other items within the premises were reportedly damaged.

Although speculation within the community suggests that poisoning may have been responsible for the deaths, authorities have not confirmed the cause, and investigations are ongoing.

The incident drew a large crowd of concerned residents on Wednesday morning as news of the tragedy spread across the town. Police officers and other security personnel were seen at the scene conducting preliminary investigations and gathering evidence.

As of the time of filing this report, the police had not released an official statement on the circumstances surrounding the deaths or the identities of the victims.

The bodies have since been evacuated and deposited in a morgue pending further investigation.

Residents have called for a thorough probe into the incident to establish the cause of death and provide answers to the grieving community.

The case remains under investigation, and further details are expected as authorities continue their inquiries.
