IBOGUN – Stakeholders and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ibogun Ward have dismissed the recent endorsement of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship hopeful, Hon. Ladi Adebutu, by Chief Joju Fadairo, describing it as politically inconsequential and incapable of affecting the party’s strength in the ward.
The stakeholders made their position known in a statement, insisting that Chief Fadairo lacks the grassroots influence necessary to sway voters or undermine the APC’s established structure in Ibogun Ward.
According to the statement, Chief Fadairo has remained largely disconnected from the affairs of the APC in the ward since joining the party, and it alleges that he has never attended a ward meeting or actively participated in party activities at the grassroots level.
The APC leaders further claimed that, while the party has continued to expand its support base and organisational structure across Ogun State, Chief Fadairo has made no meaningful contribution to the party’s growth in Ibogun Ward.
They also accused him of influencing the emergence of several political appointees and party officers, including a local government supervisor, councillor, adviser, ward chairman, ward secretary, and youth leader, without due adherence to established party processes.
The stakeholders alleged that the affected individuals did not participate in ward congresses or emerge through recognised party procedures. Consequently, they called on the government to take action against those they described as disloyal to the party.
“We therefore request the sack and removal of these officers by the government as they are traitors like Chief Joju Fadairo,” the statement read.
The APC leaders also argued that Chief Fadairo’s political influence has never translated into electoral success, claiming that the APC consistently defeated him at his polling unit even during his active years in the PDP.
They described his endorsement of Adebutu as an attempt to project relevance, insisting that it carries no real political value among voters in Ibogun Ward.
According to the stakeholders, residents of the ward are politically conscious and can distinguish between leaders who actively engage with the grassroots and those who only surface during periods of political opportunity.
Reaffirming their loyalty to the APC, the stakeholders declared that the party remains united, strong, and firmly rooted among the people of Ibogun Ward.
They further pledged to work tirelessly toward delivering overwhelming victories for all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
“We remain focused on consolidating our grassroots base and preparing for victory, unmoved by gestures that carry no substance. We equally want to place on record that we will deliver Ibogun Ward for Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) and all other candidates of our great party in the 2027 general election,” the statement added.
The statement was jointly signed by APC stakeholders and leaders in Ibogun Ward.
