Children have been charged to emulate the love of Christ which was the reason for Easter and always let this love abide in them and show in their behaviors and attitudes towards others around them.

The Ogun State First Lady, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun gave this charge at the Easter Children’s Party she organized for them at the Kensington Adebutu Civic Center, Iperu, Remo.

She said Easter speaks of the sacrificial love of God for humanity and that the only way to reciprocate it, was to love God in return and love fellow humans noting that this was the only way they could please God.

“I encourage you to always let the love of Jesus remain in your hearts and let it show in your behavior to your friends, your brothers and sisters, and your parents.
Be obedient to your parents, teachers, and elders, say no to violence and bullying.

“I am very happy to host you at this Easter party because this is a very important event for children of God. Easter speaks of the sacrificial love of God for humanity. It tells us that there is no length that God will not go to to show you how much He loves you.
Our response should be to love Him in return and love others as well”. She stated.

In his address, the Chairman, Ikenne Local Government, Hon. Olusegun Ogunleye advised the children to take their studies seriously, respect elders and take to the counsel of their parents and guardians.

Speaking on behalf of the other children at the event, Master Pelumi Odulana and miss Rebecca Sanya appreciated the First Lady for her love for them, describing the event as fun and memorable.

The celebration which was attended by children within Iperu and environs featured games, quiz, dance competitions among children and mothers as well as other side attractions with distribution of gifts to the children by the First Lady.
