Following the growing tension ahead of the Supreme Court hearing on the Governorship election in Nasarawa state, the ruling All Progressive Congress leadership has cautioned its supporters and the residents of the state against inciting and instigating utterances capable of enginering crisis in the state

The warning is coming on the heels of a peace agreement signed between the two giant parties, the PDP, APC and the security authorities in Lafia, the state Capital.

APC, in a statement issued and signed by its publicity Secretary, Chief Douglas Utaru and made available to journalists, warned its members, supporters and the residents of the state against fomenting trouble in the state.

“Consequent upon the peace deal, the leadership of the All Progressives (APC) wishes to call on its members, supporters and other citizens of the state to employ civility in their conduct, maintain decorum, mutual respect and refrain from making utterances capable of inflaming passion.”

“On no account should any party member or supporter author or publish unauthorized statements from any quarters be it on social or mainstream media platforms.

“Any statement on matters arising from the proceedings of the court to be issued by any individual or appointee of Government must be verified and edited by the media center of the party and that of the government house before its publication”, the statement declared.

The party also enjoined its teeming supporters to remain calm and refrain from any act capable of undermining the peace and stability of the state either before, during and after the Supreme Court judgment.

The statement while urging the people of the state to adhere and comply strictly with the terms and instructions by security agencies in the maintenance of law and order, also admonished the opposition PDP and its supporters to honour the peace treaty, observe all civilities and decorum in the interest of peace.
