Hon. Semi Bola Lawal, former Chairman of Odeda Local Government, yesterday facilitated a cash empowerment program for over 70 All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters in Odeda on behalf of Senator Solomon Adeola Olamilekan, popularly known as Yayi. The event, held at Osiele/Camp, was aimed at alleviating economic hardships and supporting grassroots party members.

The beneficiaries, who were mostly indigenous residents drawn from the 10 wards of Odeda, received cash gifts. Each of the 62 selected individuals received cash, while other forms of support were extended to additional attendees. The initiative underscores Senator Yayi’s commitment to grassroots development and welfare programs across the Ogun State.

Prominent leaders in attendance at the event included Pastor Michael Fajimi (Leader of Odeda LG), Isreal Olalekan, former Vice Chairman , Dr. Femi Akibule, Hon. Wale Adeogun, Hon.Ayo Oyenekan (APC Local Government Chairman), Pastor Olawale Onaolapo, ex local government party chairman, Hon. Eruobodo from Obafem-Owode and other local government executives.

The empowerment program also received support from Hon. Omoleye Olabode, further reinforcing the collective effort to uplift party loyalists.

Senator Solomon Adeola Yayi, who represents Ogun West, has been a strong advocate for socio-economic empowerment. His initiatives have included skill acquisition programs, educational scholarships, and financial support for small-scale entrepreneurs, consistently targeting vulnerable groups such as women, youths, and the elderly. This has reinforced his reputation as a grassroots-focused lawmaker.

This latest empowerment drive aligns with his broader agenda of reducing poverty and strengthening the APC’s presence at the grassroots level. Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude, describing the gesture as both timely and impactful.

The event concluded with calls for continued unity within the party and more developmental projects for Odeda and Ogun state at large.
