SAGAMU – The Universal Club of Remo has inaugurated a new executive committee to pilot the affairs of the socio-cultural organisation, with members expressing confidence that the new leadership will strengthen the club’s commitment to unity, fellowship and community development.

At the inauguration, Chief Taofeek Tola Sokoya was installed as the Grand Patron of the club, while Otunba Apelogun Musa Hammed emerged as the new President.

Other members of the executive include Hon. Soyinka Abiodun Ayodele as Vice President, Prince Odunuga Adetola Kazeem as General Secretary, Alhaji Raji Taiwo Basiru as Assistant Secretary, Engr. Soyiga Mayowa Michael as Treasurer, Alhaji Ogunnubi Idowu Maroof as Social Secretary, Hon. Oyename Akinsanya Waheed as Financial Secretary, and Mr. Adebayo Hakeem Bamidele as Chief Whip.

Speaking after the inauguration, the Grand Patron, Chief Taofeek Sokoya, congratulated the newly elected officers and charged them to uphold the values of integrity, transparency and selfless service in the discharge of their responsibilities.

He described their emergence as a call to greater service and urged them to work collectively towards advancing the vision of the club.

He assured the leadership of his unwavering support, noting that the growth and success of the club would depend on the commitment and active participation of every member.

In his acceptance remarks, the newly inaugurated President, Otunba Apelogun Musa Hammed, thanked members for the confidence reposed in him and other members of the executive.

He pledged to provide purposeful and inclusive leadership, strengthen unity among members, initiate programmes that would benefit the club and its host communities, and sustain the organisation’s longstanding tradition of service and fellowship.

According to him, the new executive is committed to promoting the socio-economic development of Remoland through meaningful community engagement and collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

Members at the inauguration expressed optimism that the new leadership would build on the achievements of previous administrations and usher the Universal Club of Remo into a new era of growth, unity and impactful community service.
