Remo North – Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), including Hon. Adebiyi Adeleye (APAGUN), Hon. Muyiwa Sodade, and Hon. Foye Sofodu, have welcomed a group of defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) into the APC in Ward 6, Akaka, Remo North Local Government Area of Ogun State.

Speaking during a reception held in honour of the new members, Hon. Adeleye described their decision to join the APC as a major boost to the party’s grassroots strength and a demonstration of growing confidence in its vision for good governance and sustainable development.

He thanked the defectors for identifying with the APC, noting that their move reflected increasing public support for the party’s progressive ideals and commitment to improving the welfare of the people.

Hon. Adeleye assured the new members that the APC remains a united and inclusive platform where every member is valued and given equal opportunities to contribute to the growth and success of the party.

He urged both longstanding members and the new entrants to embrace unity, peace, and mutual respect, stressing that collective effort and teamwork are essential to achieving meaningful development in Ward 6 and across Remo North Local Government.

The APC leader also encouraged the defectors to remain committed to the principles of discipline, selfless service, and grassroots mobilization, emphasizing that politics should be driven by the desire to deliver positive change, empower communities, and promote sustainable development.

Other party leaders present at the event, including Hon. Muyiwa Sodade and Hon. Foye Sofodu, also welcomed the defectors and reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to building a stronger and more united political family capable of delivering democratic dividends to the people.

Party faithful expressed optimism over the latest defections, describing them as a positive development that would further strengthen the APC’s structure and electoral prospects in Ward 6 and the wider Remo North Local Government Area.

The reception ended with a renewed commitment by party leaders and members to deepen unity, expand the APC’s membership base, and promote peace and cooperation as preparations continue for future political engagements.
