Sagamu – The Remo Muslim Community has conferred the prestigious title of Okanlomo Adeen of Remoland on Alhaji Adebayo Yussuf Awosanya, a Consultant to Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, and Bashorun Akarigbo (Offin, Sagamu), in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the growth of Islam and service to humanity.





The colourful conferment ceremony was held on Friday, June 19, 2026, and attracted prominent Islamic scholars, community leaders, traditional title holders, and Muslim faithful from across Remoland and beyond.
Awosanya, who also holds the title of Sarunmi Adeen of the Ogun State Muslim Community, was honoured for his dedication to the promotion of Islamic values, support for religious activities, philanthropic engagements, and contributions to the socio-economic development of the Muslim community.
The event was presided over by the Grand Chief Imam of Remoland and President-General of the League of Imams and Alfas, Ogun State, Nigeria, Sheikh Abdul Quadri Abiola Jinadu, who described the recipient as a worthy ambassador of Islam and community development.
Speaking at the ceremony, Islamic leaders noted that the title was bestowed on Awosanya in recognition of his unwavering commitment to religious advancement, humanitarian causes, and the welfare of the Muslim Ummah.
«“Alhaji Adebayo Yussuf Awosanya has demonstrated exemplary leadership, generosity, and commitment to the growth of Islam. This honour is a testament to his enduring contributions to the Muslim community and society at large,” the clerics stated.»
Among the distinguished guests at the event were the Asiwaju Adeen of Ogun State and National President of ACOMORAN, Alhaji Prince Samsudeen Adebayo Apelogun (All Rounder); Chief Imam of Iperu, Alhaji Fasasi Fowora; Chief Imam of Ogere, Alhaji Musbau Deen Salako; Chief Imam of Isara, Alhaji Sanni Ireyemi; Chief Imam of Ikenne, Alhaji Hussein Kehinde; Chief Imam of Isobatu Liheri, Alhaji Wasiu Otutu; Chief Imam of Ilisan, Alhaji Sharafa; Alhaji Nisiru Fatai Olawole; Chief Imam of Ode-Remo, Alhaji Ambali Opafola; Chief Imam of Oke-Ola, Alhaji Ibrahim Alaga; and the Chief Imam of Irolu, among other eminent Islamic leaders from across the Remo axis.
The clerics urged the newly installed Okanlomo Adeen to continue promoting peace, unity, religious harmony, and programmes that would further strengthen the Muslim community in Remoland and Ogun State.
In his acceptance speech, Awosanya expressed profound gratitude to the Remo Muslim Community, the Council of Imams, and all those who deemed him worthy of the honour.
«“I am deeply humbled by this recognition and I thank Almighty Allah, the Grand Chief Imam, and the entire Muslim community for this honour. I remain committed to the service of Islam, humanity, and the development of our society. This title will further inspire me to do more for the Muslim Ummah and the people of Ogun State,” he said.»
The ceremony concluded with special prayers for peace, unity, and sustained development in Remoland, Ogun State, and Nigeria.
