The Chairman of the Articulate Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN), Otunba Taofeek Sokoya (Danku), has extended commendations to Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu while honouring the heroes of Nigeria’s democracy on the occasion of Democracy Day.
Otunba Sokoya praised Governor Abiodun for his steadfast dedication to democratic governance and infrastructural development in Ogun State. He highlighted the governor’s people-centred policies, which have led to significant improvements in road networks, healthcare, education, and security. According to him, Governor Abiodun’s inclusive governance approach reflects the true essence of democracy, ensuring that the benefits of good governance reach all citizens.
The AMORAN Chairman also applauded President Bola Tinubu for his bold leadership and visionary policies aimed at strengthening democracy and driving sustainable national growth. He acknowledged the President’s efforts in economic reforms, national security, and democratic consolidation, noting their positive impact on Nigeria’s progress.
Reflecting on the significance of June 12, Otunba Sokoya paid tribute to the late Chief Moshood Kasimawo Olawale Abiola (MKO), the iconic figure of Nigeria’s democratic struggle, whose sacrifice laid the foundation for the nation’s current freedoms. He also honoured other fallen heroes and living legends who have contributed to the advancement of democracy in Nigeria.
Reaffirming AMORAN’s role as a key stakeholder in Ogun State’s development, Otunba Sokoya pledged the association’s continued support for Governor Abiodun’s administration. He emphasized AMORAN’s commitment to collaborating with the government to promote peace, security, and socio-economic progress.
“Democracy is about good governance, accountability, and service to the people. Governor Dapo Abiodun has demonstrated this through his transformative projects and policies. AMORAN stands with him and will continue to work hand-in-hand with his administration to build a greater Ogun State,” he stated.
The AMORAN Chairman called on Nigerians to remain steadfast in upholding democratic values, fostering unity, and supporting leaders who prioritize the welfare of the people.
