The Transition Committee Chairman of Abeokuta South Local Government Hon. Ayodeji Shomide and his team have set up emergency preparedness and response committee team over Coronavirus.

In view of this, A state of emergency operation has been activated by the team led by the chairman to coordinate multidisciplinary and multi sectoral response of the outbreak.

During the running of this program, it was stated that daily updates will be sent to the State’s incident Manager/Director on public health for necessary documentation.

The chairman maintained that the innovation is to complement the effort of the Ogun State Ministry of health,saying that it will go a long way to safeguard the health of the citizens.

He added that the main aim of the committee it is to support the primary health department in order to train health workers and sensitize the community members on the corona virus epidemics and infections.

The chairman therefore he urged the committee to support the procurement of relevant personnel and pro active equipments for health workers in the health facilities provided
