As a mark of Thanksgiving to the Almighty God for the protection of their lives and properties, the Christian Community of Odeda Local Government held its 2021 Christmas Carol and Annual Thanksgiving on Tuesday 14th December, 2021 at the Council Secretariat.

The Carol is the climax of the week long event which commenced with fasting and prayer held between Wednesday 8th to Friday 10th December, 2021. The celebration also included a fitness and wellness programme for all staff members held on Monday 13th December, 2021.

Speaking at the Carol Service which was jointly organised by the Christian Fellowship and the Local Government, the Council Chairman, Hon. Folasade Adeyemo commended the entire workforce for their unflinching support for her administration since inception. She equally tasked all and sundry to love and live peacefully with one another.

Speaking further, the Council Boss appreciated the Almighty God for his protection over her, members of her cabinet and the entire Staff. She however, prayed for sustenance of life to witness more.

Personalities who took turns to read the Bible lessons include the Head of Local Government Administration, Miss Olufunke Adeniji and some selected Directors and principal officers of the Council.

Earlier in her welcome address, the Chairman of the Organising Committee, Mrs Adebisi Adeyinka appreciated the Council Management and the entire Staff for their support towards the success of the programme.

Dignitaries at the event include the Vice Chairman, Hon. Nasiru Yaya Adigun, the Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. Rotimi Adeyemi, the Majority Leader, Hon. Idowu Samuel and the Chief Whip, Hon. Kehinde Olayiwola. Others include Traditional rulers, religious leaders, Gospel artistes and representative of the National Youth Council of Nigeria.

Highpoint of the event was the cutting of the celebration Cake by the Head of Local Government Administration, Miss Olufunke Adeniji assisted by other Dignitaries at the event.
