The Chief of Staff to Ogun State Governor, Alhaji Shuaib Afolabi Salisu has empowered women drawn from all the wards within Odeda Local Government with cash gifts geared towards boosting their Small and Microscale enterprises.

Alhaji Shuaib Afolabi Salisu who was represented by Alhaja Adeyemo Folashade, and supported by three other women , Hon (Mrs) Asoowo, Hon Kemi and Hon. Tinu said the women selected across ten wards in Odeda Local Government Area, received N10,000 each as boost to their Small and Microscale enterprises.

Addressing the Women during the ceremony which was held in Obantoko, Mrs Adeyemo said the initiative was a pointer to the will of the Prince Dapo Abiodun led government towards empowerment of the grassroots.

Adeyemo described Odeda women as unique and sensitive, stressing that they must be encouraged and motivated in all ramifications.She further said the empowerment was promise made promise kept ,as the COS had earlier made a promise to Odeda women representatives during an earlier visitation to him, While thanking the COS, She called on other well-meaning individuals and office holders to emulate COS and support the women

Mrs Titilayo Akinfenwa from Osiele ward, who spoke, expressed gratitude at Chief of staff’s gesture, noting that though COVID-19 has affected businesses, they are getting back on their feet with support from the people people like Alhaji Shuaibu.

Also, Mrs Fatima idowu from orile ilugun ward said, “big things always start small.” she commended the COS for his continuous efforts towards empowering women within the LG.

Alhaji Shuaibu had also distributed palliatives to Odeda residents last April.
