The Ogun Progressive Youths, a socio-political group, has extended its warmest congratulations to Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State and Chairman of the Southern Governors’ Forum, on the All Progressives Congress’s (APC) triumph in the recently concluded governorship election in Edo State
In a statement issued in Abeokuta, jointly signed by Coordinator Alhaji Rasheed Sanusi and Secretary Stephen Opeyemi Thomas, the group praised Governor Abiodun’s leadership as Chairman of the Southern Governors’ Forum, describing him as a true democrat, leader, and party man ¹. They expressed optimism that his leadership would yield positive results in future elections.
The group specifically urged Governor Abiodun to replicate his success in the forthcoming off-season governorship election in Ondo State, ensuring another APC victory
They also commended the passing of the South West Development Commission Bill by the Senate and encouraged the governor to facilitate its smooth implementation, pending presidential assent.
This development comes amidst Governor Abiodun’s recent presentation of the 2024 budget to the Ogun State Assembly, totalling N703.03 billion, aimed at sustaining growth and development in the state ². The governor has also sworn in new commissioners and special advisers, charging them to accelerate socio-economic development in line with his ISEYA mantra agenda.
