ABEOKUTA, OGUN STATE – July 24, 2025 – As the August 16 by-election for the Remo Federal Constituency draws near, the political landscape in Ogun State is abuzz with endorsements and strategic alliances. Among the prominent figures openly backing the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Hon. Ayoola Elegbeji, is the State Chairman of the Articulate Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN) in Ogun, Otunba Taofeek Sokoya.
Speaking in Abeokuta on Wednesday, Otunba Sokoya lauded Hon. Elegbeji as “a woman of competence, character and capacity,” asserting that she embodies the essence of effective representation and is exceptionally poised to uphold the legacy of the late Rt. Hon. Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga (IJAYA).

Sokoya underscored that the late lawmaker, affectionately known as IJAYA, left an indelible mark through her people-focused representation, legislative excellence, and profound connections with her constituents, particularly at the grassroots level. According to him, Elegbeji’s candidacy transcends mere political continuity; it represents a renewed commitment to development and a purposeful engagement with the needs of the populace.

“Remo Federal Constituency cannot afford to derail from the trajectory of progress set in motion by our dear late representative. Hon. Ayoola Elegbeji is tested and trusted. Her antecedents reflect a commitment to service and a readiness to deliver. She is not a stranger to our yearnings,” Otunba Sokoya declared with conviction.

The AMORAN chairman further emphasised that his support for Elegbeji is not solely political but a civic responsibility, stemming from his firsthand understanding of her fervent passion for developmental strides.
“As someone who works closely with the grassroots, I can say without mincing words that Ayoola Elegbeji is the most prepared and people-conscious candidate in this race. Her emergence is timely and her victory is necessary,” he asserted.
Otunba Sokoya seized the opportunity to call upon all residents to mobilise massively in support of the APC candidate, stressing that a vote for Elegbeji is a decisive vote for continuity, stability, and sustained progress within the constituency.
“I believe in good governance and effective representation. I am one of the many admirers of the late Rt. Hon. Onanug, a because of what she stood fo,r and today, I am proud to identify with Hon. Elegbeji as wel,l because I believe she has what it takes to sustain the legacy. Let us all rally behind her and ensure Remo Federal Constituency does not miss a step on the path of greatness,” he concluded, urging unified support for the APC flagbearer.
