As preparations intensify for the upcoming local government elections in Ogun State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership in Ewekoro Local Government has made significant strides by shortlisting three prominent aspirants for the chairmanship position.

Following a thorough and competitive selection process, the local party leadership has put forth the names of Olumide Ezekiel Oguntoyinbo, Azeez Adeyemi, and Sikiru Adesina to Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, for his final consideration.

This shortlist was formed from a broader pool of over seven aspirants who initially expressed interest in vying for the position. The selection process has been commended for its peacefulness and transparency, distinguishing it as one of the most orderly political engagements in recent times within the area. According to an insider from the local government, this decision exemplifies the APC leadership’s commitment to fairness and inclusivity.

The three shortlisted aspirants—popularly known as OLAM, Eskay, and Adeyemi—have garnered substantial support from party members and stakeholders in the local government. Their diverse backgrounds and experiences are seen as assets that will contribute to the party’s objectives.

It was also gathered that other aspirants couldn’t make the list due to the fact that they Pooled zero vote.

The next critical step now rests with Governor Abiodun, who will make the final decision on the APC’s representative for the upcoming November council elections. The anticipation surrounding this choice is palpable, with political observers and loyal party members keenly watching to see how the selected candidate will navigate the electoral landscape.

The eventual nominee is not just expected to represent the APC but also to lead the party’s campaign in what is anticipated to be a fiercely competitive local government election. As the election date approaches, the pressure and expectations mount, highlighting the importance of strategic leadership in the quest for electoral success in Ogun State.

The outcome of the governor’s decision will undoubtedly have significant implications for the APC in Ewekoro, marking a pivotal moment for the party as it gears up for the elections ahead.
