The first female Executive Chairman in the history of Odeda Local Government, Dr (Mrs) Folasade Adeyemo whose tenure of office will be rounded off in few weeks, has commissioned numerous impactful projects across the various wards in the council area, ranging from drilling of boreholes, renovation of buildings, construction of shopping mall at Gbonogun Odo-Eran, donation of generating set to health facilities, provision of Solar street lights across the 10 wards in the Local Government Area.

Others include construction of 20 lock up shops at Kila Market, Ilugun, Comprehensive renovation of Administrative block and Legislative building in the Local Government Secretariat, Construction of pig pen for Piggery, Energization of transformer at Obantoko, Palliative to the aged, to mention but a few.

Speaking during the commissioning, Dr.(Mrs) Folasade Adeyemo, enjoined all the community leaders where these projects were cited to take charge of the projects in their respective domains.

In his own remarks, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs appreciated and thanked the Governor, Prince (Dr) Dapo Abiodun , CON, for being a friend of the grassroot and for giving all the 20 Local Government Chairmen in the state, the necessary support.

He also thanked the leadership of All Progressive Congress (APC) for giving the people of Odeda Local Government a performing Chairman.

In his word , “as we can all see through the performance of Local Government Chairmen across the state, the Local Governments are already enjoying autonomy, because His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun has never tampered with the Local Government funds.”

On his part, Chief Yemi Sanusi, APC Chairman in Ogun State, said that any Local Government Chairman in the rural areas must make the grading of roads a priority, in order to be reckoned with.

Alhaji Shuaib Salisu, Senator representing Ogun Central Senatorial District, thanked the Chairman for being a woman of her words and for delivering dividends of democracy to the people of Odeda Local Government.

He further thanked her for the job well done and for being a symbol of His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON.

Senator Shuaib Salisu also thanked the Vice Chairman, Hon. Nasiru Yaya Adigun, for his support towards the realization of goals of the Folasade Adeyemo Led Administration.

Razak Daddah, Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr. Rotimiolu Akinlesi, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr Olusegun Ibirinde, Director, Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and Mrs Folasade Shogbiyeju, Director, Inspectorate and Monitoring.

Amongst the career officers in attendance included, the Head of Local Government Administration, Odeda Local Government, Alhaja Shekoni Adebimpe Nurat, the Directors/ Heads of various departments and other dignitaries.
