ABEOKUTA – The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has initiated a comprehensive digital overhaul of its membership register, flagging off a training programme for officials who will manage the upcoming state-wide e-registration exercise.

At the flag-off ceremony on Thursday, the State Party Chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi, declared the move a “pivotal step” for the party, emphasising its strategic importance for future elections.

“We are on a mission to count our votes before the election,” Sanusi stated, highlighting that a robust digital register is key to electoral success.

The Chairman charged State Administrators, Senatorial Administrators, and Local Government Supervisors to demonstrate utmost diligence, warning that their performance would be under the direct scrutiny of “Their Excellencies, The President, our Governor, and his humble self.” He promised that exceptional hard work would be rewarded.

The training was facilitated by Hon. Olusegun Bankole, who also serves as the Administrator for Ogun Central Senatorial District. He took supervisors from across the state’s twenty local government areas through the intricacies of the new online registration platform.

Weighing in on the discussions, the State Admin of the exercise, Mr Yemi Adelani, urged the officials to brace for the task ahead. Adelani, who is also the party’s Organising Secretary, directed them to work closely with ward-level agents to mobilise members onto the portal.

He announced a performance-driven framework for the exercise, revealing that “targets will be set for all local governments and such must be met within record time.”

Concluding the event, Prince Aderibigbe Tella, the State Secretary and Senatorial Admin for Ogun West, admonished all participants to strictly adhere to the official guidelines for a seamless and standardised registration process.

The initiative signals the party’s commitment to leveraging technology for member engagement and data-driven campaigning ahead of the next electoral cycle.
