Young people have been advised to abstain from immoral acts that could further spread HIV.

The wife of the Ogun state Governor, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun gave this advice at the 2020 Valentine’s Day Campaign on HIV organized by the Ogun State Agency for the Control of AIDS, (OGUNSACA) for students of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Ojere, Abeokuta.

Mrs. Abiodun said abstinence was the best way of curtailing the spread of the Virus among unmarried youth but admonished them to avoid unprotected sex if they must have it.

She urged the students to show love to one another and not share HIV particularly on a day like Valentine adding that love could be shown without having sex.

She further advised them to shun illicit acts and behavior like drug abuse and cultism among others.

Earlier in his goodwill message, the Rector of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Mr. Adeoye Odedeji lauded Governor Dapo Abiodun for bailing the Institution out of its long term problems that had crippled both administrative and academic activities in the Institution describing him as “the Moses of our time”.

He appreciated the Wife of the Governor for her time and concern for the welfare of the youths in the state and the Mapoly Students in particular.

Meanwhile, the Wife of the Ogun state Governor, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun has reiterated the present administration’s commitment towards enhancing the health care of the people in Ogun state.

Mrs. Abiodun emphasized this while flagging off the First Round 2020 National Immunization Plus Days Campaign against Polio held at the Abeokuta South Primary Health Care Center, Oke Ilewo, Abeokuta.
She said the campaign was to demonstrate the present

administration’s commitment to put an end to polio in Ogun State stating that it was targeted at vaccinating about two million children from age 0-5 years in the state against polio.

” To affirm our continued commitment to good health care of our children, our administration is supporting this exercise financially to cater for additional logistics, consumables and the personnel to reach our target of vaccinating about two million under 5 children in the state”.

She further stated that the present administration’s promise to restore the old glory of the state’s secondary and tertiary health facilities in the state was being fulfilled.

“Also, our commitment to restore the glory of our Secondary and Tertiary facilities has began with the State Hospital, Ilaro and Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, being the first two to benefit from these interventions”.

She said, ” the state government has also recruited qualified health personnel to be in the Institutions, State Hospital, Ilaro and Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu.
