IFO – The consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency, Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye, has received a significant endorsement from party elders, leaders, and traditional rulers across the two local government areas.

Leaders drawn from Ifo and Ewekoro Local Government Areas described the emergence of the former Commissioner as a reflection of inclusiveness and fairness, aligning with the ideals of the APC.

During a visit to monarchs, the Olu of Itori and Chairman of Progressives Obas, Oba Fatai Akamo, alongside the Olorile of Orile-Ifo, Oba Abdulsemiu Ogunjobi, showered royal blessings on Hon. Adeleye, stating that her aspiration would give a voice to all strata of society.

Political leaders, including the State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, and the former Speaker of the State House of Assembly and member representing Ifo I State Constituency, Rt. Hon. Oluomo Olakunle, spoke separately during party engagements held in Ewekoro and Ifo. They commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for upholding the party’s ideals, noting that the consensus arrangement followed broad consultations with the constituency’s leadership. They added that allowing Ifo Local Government Area to take its turn for the House of Representatives seat was in the collective interest of the people.

The party bigwigs also acknowledged the efforts of the Deputy Chief Whip, Hon. Isiaka Ibrahim, in the National Assembly and sought massive support from party members to deliver bloc votes for all consensus candidates in the forthcoming elections.

The APC Chairman for Ewekoro Local Government, Alhaji Ayinde Sogbamu, stressed that the party’s interest remained paramount and must be adhered to in order to strengthen internal cohesion and unity. His counterpart in Ifo, Barr. Olumide Oduwole, described Hon. Adijat as “tested and trusted” and urged all necessary support for her to emerge victorious in subsequent phases of the elections.

In her remarks, Hon. Adijat Adeleye thanked party ranks for standing in the interest of loyalty, adding that history would be kind to Governor Abiodun for upholding fairness in the federal constituency. The former Commissioner announced plans to renovate the party secretariat and donated a generating set and fans to the Ewekoro party secretariat. She sought increased support and assured that, if elected, she would represent all interests, yearnings, and needs of the constituency.

The meetings were attended by ward chairmen and vice-chairmen, secretaries, women and youth leaders, ward apex bodies, party executives, ward councillors, and apex leaders from both Ifo and Ewekoro Local Government Areas.
