ABEOKUTA – Campaign billboards endorsing Governor Dapo Abiodun’s senatorial bid and Senator Olamilekan Adeola Solomon’s governorship ambition have sprung up across Ogun State, following their official unveiling by the Council of Governor Liaison Officers (GLO) on Tuesday.

The group, which comprises liaison officers from the state’s 20 local government areas, unveiled the billboards at strategic locations in Abeokuta and other major towns, signaling an early and visible show of support for the two APC stalwarts ahead of the 2027 elections.

Speaking during the unveiling ceremony, the Ogun State GLO Chairman, Otunba Tola Olutayo, MAPM, ARPA, described the initiative as a testament to the council’s firm belief in the leadership qualities of both politicians. He said the billboards are not mere decorations but symbols of the confidence that grassroots mobilizers and their supporters have reposed in the duo.

According to Olutayo, the exercise is designed to galvanize support at the grassroots level while fostering unity among party faithful. He urged residents to sustain the developmental momentum currently underway under Governor Abiodun’s administration, even as they throw their weight behind Senator Yayi’s aspiration to take over the reins of power at Oke-Mosan.

“The Governor Liaison Officers are fully committed to promoting good governance, continuity, and sustainable development in Ogun State,” Olutayo stated. “We are optimistic that the combined leadership of Governor Abiodun and Senator Adeola will further accelerate the growth and prosperity we have witnessed in recent years.”

The GLO chairman also used the occasion to appeal to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), supporters, and stakeholders across the state to maintain peace and remain law-abiding throughout the electioneering period. He stressed the importance of issue-based political engagement, warning against actions or rhetoric that could heat up the polity.

Reaffirming the council’s dedication to inclusive progress, Olutayo pledged that the GLO would continue to collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure that Ogun State remains on a steady path of unity and development.

The unveiling comes weeks ahead of the formal commencement of campaign activities, raising expectations of a fiercely contested but orderly political season in the Gateway State.
