ABUJA – The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released the names of senatorial candidates who have emerged from completed party primaries across 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The party stated that the list contains candidates whose nominations have been concluded and ratified, while primaries in some senatorial districts remain pending, inconclusive, or yet to be conducted.

Among the prominent names on the list is former Senate President Orji Uzor Kalu, who secured the APC ticket for Abia North, while Governor Hope Uzodimma emerged as the party’s candidate for Imo West.

In the North-East, Governor Umaru Fintiri was listed as the APC candidate for Adamawa North, while Governor Inuwa Yahaya secured the ticket for Gombe North. Borno State produced Ali Ndume for Borno South, Kaka Shehu for Borno Central, and Tahir Monguno for Borno North.

The North-West zone features several high-profile politicians, including Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau for Kano North, former Kano State Governor Ibrahim Shekarau for Kano Central, Aliyu Wamakko for Sokoto Central, and former Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari for Zamfara West.

In the South-South, Senate President Godswill Akpabio emerged as the APC candidate for Akwa Ibom North-West, while former Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa secured the party’s ticket for Delta North. Other candidates include Ede Dafinone for Delta Central and Joel-Onowakpo Thomas for Delta South.

For the South-West, the APC nominated Governor Dapo Abiodun for Ogun East, Jimoh Ojugbele for Ogun West, and Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu for Ogun Central. In Lagos State, the party picked Wasiu Eshinlokun for Lagos Central, Idiat Adebule for Lagos West, and Tokunbo Abiru for Lagos East.

The list also includes Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele for Ekiti Central, Gbenga Elegbeleye for Ondo North, Taiwo Fasoranti for Ondo Central, and Isaacs Kekemeke for Ondo South.

In the North-Central zone, former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello emerged for Kogi Central, while Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq secured the ticket for Kwara Central. Governor Abdullahi Sule was listed for Nasarawa North, while former Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong emerged for Plateau South.

Former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole secured the APC ticket for Edo North, while Joseph Ikpea and Ogbeide-Ihama Omoregie emerged for Edo Central and Edo South respectively.

For the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the party nominated former Senate Minority Leader Philip Aduda as its senatorial candidate.

The APC explained that senatorial districts not included in the current release are either awaiting primaries or have unresolved issues requiring further consultations.

According to party officials, delays in some states were caused by internal disputes, zoning arrangements, logistical challenges, and postponements of primary elections.

The party added that the list would be updated as outstanding primaries are concluded and ratified ahead of the submission of candidates’ names to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in line with the timetable for the 2027 general elections.
