Salihu Moh. Lukman, Director-General of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, has been reportedly sacked.

It was gathered that Lukman’s sack was in connection with his alleged involvement in anti-party activities.

A source who confided in our correspondent disclosed that his dismissal was part of the resolution of the All Progressives Congress governors after Sunday’s meeting.

A pro-APC group, the Progressives Youth Council, last week reportedly issued a 72-hour ultimatum to the governors to sack Lukman after being accused of being a mole in the ruling party with a mission to undermine it and hand advantage to the People’s Democratic Party in 2023.

The APC-PYC said that Lukman, in recent times, sponsored a series of protests and media propaganda against Governor Mai Mala Buni-led Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee.

The group also claimed that the PDP mobilised Lukman with the funds for the purpose, adding that the DG collected money from some governors but failed to declare same at the last stakeholders meeting held in Abuja.

“The Director-General of Progressive Governors’ Forum, Dr Salihu Moh. Lukman, is the problem we have identified as being major among the challenges besetting the APC ahead of next year’s general elections,” the group said.

Contrary to reports that the PGF DG resigned from office in the wake of the crisis trailing the February National Convention, it was learnt that he was fired.
