Ibadan – The Oyo State Government has demolished a three-bedroom bungalow allegedly used as a hideout by kidnappers involved in the abduction of the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Chief Bayo Adelabu, and her children.

The demolition, carried out on Monday on the directive of Governor Seyi Makinde, took place at the Lako Community along the Aiyegun–Anaye Road area of Ibadan.
Officials of the Oyo State Ministry of Public Works and Transportation, accompanied by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, supervised the exercise as part of ongoing efforts by the state government to combat kidnapping and other violent crimes.
The property was reportedly linked to the gang responsible for the abduction of Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul.
The victims were kidnapped on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at the Elewura area of Challenge in Ibadan, an incident that sparked widespread concern and prompted intensified security operations.
State authorities said the demolition sends a strong message to criminal elements that Oyo State will not tolerate the use of residential buildings or any other facilities as bases for kidnapping, banditry, or related criminal activities.
The government noted that the action forms part of broader measures being implemented under Governor Makinde’s administration to strengthen security, dismantle criminal networks, and safeguard residents across the state.
Security agencies have continued investigations into the kidnapping case, while efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend other members of the criminal syndicate.
The Oyo State Government reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining law and order, assuring residents that all necessary steps will be taken to ensure the safety of lives and property.
