The Deputy National Chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC), Dr. Ali Dalori, has called on politicians to invest in people or risk sinking into political oblivion.

Dalari who spoke to newsmen before casting his votes at the local government elections in Maiduguri on Saturday, advised that, if elected, the holders must operate an open door policy to guarantee the APC’s victory at the 2027 polls.

“Therefore, elective office holders, especially from the grassroot must serve with dedication to ensure that whatever population of the electorate they control does not abandon them.

“To do that, they must live with them, show them love and attend to their problems every step on the way because the electorate are our shop, the capital and wares for sale in the business of politics.

“If you control this shop, every politician seeking election will come to you because you have what he is searching for, but the more you start losing the people, politicians would stop patronizing you, and at this stage, you begin to sink into political oblivion” he said.

He said with the performance of Governor Babagana Zulum, the ruling APC would have an easy ride in sweeping all the 27 chairmanship and 312 councillorship posts across the state.

“It’s been this way all along because Borno is an APC state, we have proven our worth to the people and they always vote for us, and it will not be different this time around.

“The vice president, Kashim Shettima, who brought Governor Zulum after years of unimaginable performance is currently bringing more dividends of democracy to our region and the country as a whole,” he added.
