The Executive Chairman of Ipokia Local Government, Hon. Johnson Akohomeh Avoseh (Cornerstone), has called on corporate organizations, particularly banks, to partner with the council in its developmental strides through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
Cornerstone made this appeal during a meeting with representatives from various banks at the council’s headquarters today. He emphasized that the council alone cannot cater to the diverse needs of the people and, therefore, requires the support of the private sector.

“By engaging in CSR activities, organizations not only contribute to community development but also enhance their public image,” Cornerstone stated.
The bank representatives, who expressed their appreciation for the council chairman’s leadership, assured Cornerstone of their willingness to collaborate. They requested a detailed proposal outlining the council’s specific needs to guide their support.

Representatives from Wema Bank, United Bank for Africa, Access Bank, Agosasa Microfinance Bank, and Lavender Microfinance Bank attended the meeting.
Furthermore, the Head of Local Government Administration, Mr. Emmanuel Pogbe, urged the banks to expedite the issuance of non-indebtedness letters for council officials whenever necessary.

The meeting was also attended by key council officials, including the Director of Finance and Supplies, Rotimi Opeodu, the Director of General Services and Administration, Mr. Abiodun Adeogun, and the Director of Education and Information, Mrs. Olumide Esther.
