… I am at peace with all political leaders in my senatorial district including former governor Amosun.

The All progressives congress senatorial candidate in Ogun Central senatorial district, Shuaibu Afolabi Salisu (SAS) says his style of politics is not pedestrian but geared towards quality representation of his people, contribution to national development and quality service delivery.

The senatorial candidate made this statement while featuring as a guest on “Oju Abe”, a live interactive programme on Splash Fm 106.7 in Abeokuta as he continues his senatorial campaign across the six local government areas that make up his senatorial district.

Alhaji Shuaib Afolabi Salisu says he has been holding consultations and meeting with his constituents, members of community development association (CDAs) and other candidates contesting under the umbrella of the APC in Ogun central senatorial district on ways to chart a transformation course for the senatorial district, ogun state and Nigeria at large.

According to him, “I have a mission to champion the unbundling the Nigerian federating system that will allow state governments to play bigger roles in the delivery of infrastructure projects on their own rather than depending on the federal government to fix them especially those considered federal roads. I am also very particular about encouraging transparency in government, service delivery and making government activities more open to the Nigerian populace. Lastly, capacity building is very important, I will facilitate bills and national conversations that will improve self development, skills acquisition, enterprise development and the right attitude in the Nigerian youth”.

Reacting to questions on his relationship with other political leaders in his senatorial district, Alhaji Shuaib Afolabi Salisu says he is at peace with everyone including former governor Ibikunle Amosun whom he worked with as deputy chief of staff during his first term.

He adds that he remains committed to ensuring that governor Dapo Abiodun’s mantra of “building our future together” is taken a notch higher when he gets to the National Assembly. He believes that if all the candidates of the APC are voted for in 2023, Ogun state will benefit more at the federal, state and local government levels.

The APC senatorial candidate also assured callers on the programme that he will not renege on his promises to the people and will continue to remain close to them more than ever before, when he gets to the National Assembly.

He said “I have always been a grassroots politician, I always vote in my ward at Opeji even before I joined politics fully in 2007. After I contested and lost the election for the House of Representatives that same year, I toured all the council wards in my federal constituency to appreciate my supporters. Since then I have been with them and I have been very active politically. They know me very well and I am one of them”.
