Ogun: Wives of LG chairmen express commitment to support Ogun First lady

Wives of chairmen of 20 local government areas ( LGAs) of Ogun state have made commitment to support Ogun State First Lady, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun to foster all-round development in the state.

They made the commitment in a communiqué made available to the News men in Abeokuta on Sunday.

The wives said in the communiqué they all signed that they would do whatever possible, within their reach and ability, to ensure that this government of Prince Dapo Abiodun,the governor of Ogun State and Mrs Bamidele Abiodun succeed given the prominence it deserves.

The meeting which was inaugurated by the Chairman Transition committee of Odeda local government , Hom Semiu Bola Lawal. In his remarks,  Mr Lawal charged the chairperson to be committed and diligent in this course. He emphasized that the reason why they must exist is because of the all inclusiveness ideology of His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun that everyone must get involved.

He however urged all present to be ready to serve and make impacts wherever they find themselves.

The inaugural lecture was given by Mrs Waliat Adeyemi, in her interaction with the chairpersons, they outlined programmes and innovation that could be done at the local level.

 

The Programme includes Educational Support,  Skill Acquisition, Food Processing units, Donations of equipment to health centres, Widows Women and youth Empowerment,  Moral and sexual sensitisation and a host of others.

Furthermore, Delibrations were made on how to strengthen ties with the First lady of Ogun state and how to improve the accessibility of the programme embarked on by the first lady.

Speaking earlier, the leader of the Wives of the Council Chairmen, who is also the wife of the Ifo Local Government Caretaker Chairman, Mrs.Mutiat Abiola Salami congratulated everyone for being part of the meeting.

She said the wives of council chairmen in Ogun state were proud to associate themselves with First Lady, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun whom she described as a high flier in various fields of human endeavors and a mother to all in character and in action.

Mrs. Lawal, the wife of Odeda local government transition chairman, also commended the good works the administration of Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun is doing, particular at the grassroots and for gender sensitive policy and programmes of the government which have resulted into the emancipation of women from doldrums of poverty and neglect.
