A student leader has commended the education policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, saying Nigerian students are benefiting from several interventions introduced by the Federal Government.
Speaking on the impact of the administration’s programmes, the student leader said initiatives such as the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) have provided significant support to students across the country.
“At this juncture, there’s no Nigerian student that will tell you they’re not enjoying the policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said.
According to him, NELFUND has eased the financial burden on many students by providing loans for tuition fees as well as monthly upkeep allowances, thereby improving access to higher education.
He also pointed to increased budgetary allocations to the education sector, describing it as evidence of the administration’s commitment to improving learning conditions and supporting students nationwide.
The student leader further expressed support for Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda ahead of the forthcoming Senate election, citing the former lawmaker’s record of engagement with students during his time in office.
He noted that Aduda facilitated scholarships, fellowships, and other student-focused initiatives, which he said positively impacted many young Nigerians.
“In fact, during his time at the Senate, there were numerous policies that favoured Nigerian students,” he stated.
He contrasted Aduda’s performance with that of the current senator, alleging that students have not witnessed a similar level of engagement or support from the incumbent.
“These are things that the current senator has not done,” he added.
The student leader maintained that his support for Aduda is based on what he described as credibility, capacity, ideas, and ideology rather than political sentiment or party affiliation.
He urged political leaders seeking elective positions to prioritise policies and programmes that directly address the needs and aspirations of Nigerian students.
