A political group in Osun State, the Osun Focus Group (OFG), loyal to former Governor of Osun State and immediate past Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has officially dumped the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and returned to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The group’s decision was announced during a meeting with the APC candidate for Osun Central Senatorial District, Kunle Rasheed Adegoke (SAN), popularly known as K-RAD, at his office in Alekuwodo, Osogbo.
Speaking on behalf of the group, its leaders said their return to the APC was informed by what they described as growing abnormalities within the ADC and the conduct of the party’s leadership, which they said no longer reflected their political principles and aspirations.
According to them, the APC remains their political home and offers a more credible platform for achieving their goals and contributing to Osun State’s development.
The OFG also declared its unwavering support for the APC governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), ahead of the August 15 governorship election in the state.
The group expressed confidence in Oyebamiji’s leadership capacity, describing him as the candidate best positioned to deliver good governance and sustainable development for Osun State.
In addition, the returning members pledged their support for K-RAD in the build-up to the 2027 general elections, assuring him of their commitment to the APC’s success across the state.
They further vowed to mobilise more than 10,000 members spread across Osun State to work for the victory of APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.
The development is seen as a significant boost to the APC’s grassroots mobilisation efforts as political activities ahead of the governorship and subsequent general elections continue to gather momentum in Osun State.
