Ogun state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has received the Torch of Unity which signifying the commencement of the 21st National Sports Festival (NSF), tagged “Delta 2022”.

At the ceremony which took place Saturday at the Governor Office, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.

He praised the outstanding stars and staff that have written the name of the state in gold were born out of the National Sports Festival, which shows the resources the Ogun state government is investing in sporting activities are not a waste.

Represented by the deputy chief of staff to the governor, Dr. Oluwatoyin Taiwo , the governor commended the Youths and Sports commissioner , Hon. Kehinde Dare for their commitment, doggedness and outstanding performance at the last edition, Edo 2020.

Earlier, in his remarks, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Kehinde Oluwadare, described the Sports Festival as the Nigerian Olympics, where the best and brightest athletes like Tobi Amusan and others are qualified to represent the country at International competitions.

Hon. Oluwadare commended the Executive Governor and the good people of Ogun State for plan to Host 22nd edition in 2024.
